I do hope that she's wearing a leotard under that cloth.The skirt attachment kind of puzzles me since she is wearing a high leotard & thus make covering her rear pointless.

Dark Magician Girl...She's been who she is, since the beginning.
Her artwork has changed a couple different times in the OCG and TCG, but she remained with her outfit, her looks, and her Effect, as an EFFECT Monster.
Yes, there have been adaptations...Magician's Valkyria in the 1st Movie...Card Ejector in 5Ds...Gagaga Girl in Zexal......BUT, They have ALL had enough of a difference to them, in outfit and effect, that I have always considered them as DIFFERENT characters and NOT Dark Magician Girl....Plus, all these "Similars" were EFFECT Monsters...
...But this....It's borderline Blasphemy...
Are they Honestly going out of there way to REDO Dark Magician Girl...and make her into an Xyz Monster

Yes, the Kuribohs Changed...But I Personally NEVER considered them as trying to replace the original....I consider Kuriboh, Winged Kuriboh, Kuribon, and whatever this Kuribolt is...as All Seperate, and INDIVIDUAL Characters....Brothers and Sisters and/or Cousins, etc. if you will...
...Same with Magician's Valkyria, Card Ejector, and Gagaga Girl.....they look different enough, that they could be sisters or something...and they don't go out of the way to look exactly like DMG...
...but this....this Xyz....it's Like Mr. Takahashi has made extra sure to REDO Dark Magician Girl down to her looks, outfit, face,...and EVEN IN NAME.......it's just not right....
Even with the Malefic cards....I don't know....they just don't seem like the same thing.......they were deliberately made to be like "Corrupt" versions of the originals.......
...but this.....I just cant get over...that this feels like a borderline that should NOT have been crossed

......my biggest problem....is that...I just don't want to see DMG get a bad reputation due to this new card's....somewhat (morally, negative-sounding card effect.........."taking control of another monster" etc.....that just doesn't sound like Dark Magician Girl)
She is one of the many reason why YGO became popular. Why do you think a figure of her came out yet the newer ones based on her didn't? Because she is extremely popular and no new version or alternate version can replace her.

....my fear....is that if this new card is SUPPOSED to be an Upgrade of DMG.....like an older form.....
...my fear....is that...people will....see it like after DMG would get older.......she would turn darker.....turn to controlling other monsters...
...compared to the other ones, like valkyria, etc....that have a fair amount of differences in look.....this one....has the most resemblance to DMG...
...thus I fear that likeness....will cause the newer generations who are introduced to the game....to only see this darker form of Dark Magician Girl......and miss out on the fact she was never like this....

That's basically what it boils down to, right? Since you're extrapolating that she's suddenly become immoral because she wears black and has an effect that basically steals monsters from the opponent?
Just because she resembles DMG doesn't mean she's going to eclipse the original DMG completely. Quit being such a drama queen.

You are being a massive drama queen if her getting a redesign (that is in no way intended to replace the original, again) is going to "turn your mind inside-out". So is everyone else getting their panties in a bunch over it. And if you're genuinely that upset about it? Then you might need to step away from the internet for a little while to cool your jets.

You do NOT know how I truly feel regarding Dark Magician Girl, nor truly how this whole "new" change is causing my mind to go inside-out.

Aside from an increase on ATK and DEF, her abilities also matured that rather gathering power from fallen DMs, she takes control of enemy monsters, giving her chance of fighting other duel monsters.
Take note that she doesn't replace the original, just powered up version of her, just like the anime-exclusive DMG the Dragon Knight.
Takahashi apparently never wanted DM and DMG to be blue/purple/pink in the first place. He actually wanted them to have black color schemes, but this is shounen, so things need to be colorful and flashy.
And come on, Zexal's been pandering to the older DM fans from the very beginning, in a lot of ways. Right down to the main plot being a memory fetch quest of a spirit that lives in a magical item. Hell, 5D's basically made a Synchro version of Gaia on top of all the others I mentioned that you were quick to shoot down because they're "not the same" (except they kind of are).
Valkyria is basically DMG in design with a fancier outfit and longer, more gingery hair, as is Gagaga with a different color scheme. That, and there's a key word in this entry you seem to have missed: remake. Not replacement, remake. By the logic you're employing here, Valkyria and Gagaga are just as much "redos" as Magimagi, and you should be whining about their existence too. Winged Kuriboh is basically a regular Kuriboh with itty bitty wings and a slightly altered effect, for that matter -- if we apply your logic here as well, you should've complained about that too, right?
Sorry if I sound bitchy about this, but everyone whining about this right now is grasping for straws and basically acting no better than the DM purists who whine about the spinoffs but never actually watch them because they're terrible corruptions of Takahashi's ~*~masterpiece~*~. (And considering this is Takahashi's baby, after all, who are any of you to complain about what he does with it?)
Related reading, again. This is basically what you are doing. Zexal knows its audience is rooted in older fans as much as the new generation, so they're actually pretty smart to be including an expy of a popular first-gen monster. So I'd imagine they'll just let the nostalgiafags cry more.
It's hard to get a good look at the new design in that picture because it's so low quality, but... it looks like she's wearing black now? I can't really tell.
And I'm not caught up enough with the TCG to know if the effect is good or not, but I'll take everyone else's word for it, I suppose. It seems like a major upgrade, at least if her usefulness has skyrocketed like that. So the people whining about her design change (which doesn't look all that different as of now aside from a palette swap and a couple minor details) can shove their nostalgiafagging, IMO.

Miracle Flipper, ditto the above as a shota Dark Magician.
The Malefic dragons, which no one seemed to complain about despite most of them having inferior effects to the originals.
Gagaga Girl, another DMG palette swap that fans actually seemed to adore when word and pics got out.
I'm sure I could name more if I went looking, too. What you're saying here pretty much reeks of the same sort of thing DM purists whine about.

Then, in GX, Winged Kuriboh.
In 5D's, Kuribon.
And now, in ZEXAL, Kuribolt.
